What happened to the Faraway Tree?

I am sure that many of us have read the Faraway Tree books by Enid Blyton. I guess it's safe to say that if you haven't then you had a horrible childhood.

We would open the book every night and go on adventures to the Land of Take-What-You-Want, the Land of Birthdays or the Land of Toys. Of course these were great but at other nights we joined Jo, Bessie and Fanny on scary adventures to the Land of Dame Snap or on a mission to save the Faraway Tree.

But the Faraway Tree has ultimately disappeared. Children nowadays don't even know who Moon Face is. Luckily after years, Faraway Tree's fans' prayers have been answered. The culture has been revived. In 2012 the books' language was updated so as to make the series more relatable to a new generation of readers.

Soon we won't have to read to go on adventures. The Faraway Tree is to be adapted into a live action film by director Sam Mendes’s production company. Finally we can watch the tales of Jo, Bessie and Fanny and the quirkily named collection of fantastical treetop friends, such as Moon-Face, Mister Watzisname, Silky and the Saucepan Man.
