ABOUT RAHUL GANDHI

Rahul Gandhi was born in the spring of 1998 at Netcare Garden City Hospital in South Africa and grew up in Mayfair, Johannesburg where he went to two different primary schools. He started writing at the age of 14, in 2012, with 'The Real Architects'. About a month later he wrote a poor piece which he entitled 'Hitler - A Ruthless Man'. Following these two publications through Kindle Direct Publishing, the books received mixed reviews. The main criticism was the extremely low length of both the books. In attempt to rectify this problem, Rahul began writing his third book, 'The British Monarchy', in December 2012. Despite being in South Africa, Rahul's interest in British history stemmed mainly from his fascination with royalty and the system of a monarch. He also remembers wonderful childhood holidays to England where he visited many of the castles and palaces with his family. The third factor that still pulls Rahul towards British history is his school's own roots in England. Rahul received the Allan Gray Orbis Scholarship to attend the school.

King Edward VII School was founded by Lord Alfred Milner in 1902 after the Anglo-Boer War, when schools were needed urgently to educate the young English boys in South Africa. In 1912 it was named King Edward VII School. The school also contributed a lot to both the World Wars with one of its boys being the first Commonwealth citizen to lose his life in World War I. This rich history is preserved deeply within the school's traditions that are observed and this further motivated Rahul to write a book on the monarchy. He finished the book in March 2014 after much research. This book was also published in a printed version. In the same month, Rahul attended the annual Young Historians Conference in Johannesburg where he presented a speech on witch hunts in relation to feminist history. For this, he was placed first in the preliminary round. A few months later he was placed fourth at the final round of the Conference for a speech on the same topic.

When his latest book received no reviews, let alone good reviews that he expected, Rahul decided to turn to fiction. Being an avid reader of both fiction and non-fiction, Rahul felt confident that he could produce good fiction. However, it did not work due to continuous failure to have a really great idea. Following this, many things occurred across the world. Chief were the Gaza conflict and the emergence of ISIS. Closely following all this, Rahul began to realize that human nature was seriously flawed and had been so for millennia. This gave Rahul the idea for his first novel which he intends to follow examples of these flaws. He plans to release the book in 2016.
